Housing Update
May. 2nd, 2007 08:50 pmThe new apartment is looking better every day, but we still haven't moved. Right now, we have some minor construction going on (we're getting our own washer & dryer, wheee) so we will move once the demolition & construction phases are complete, in about two weeks. That coincides with the end of Heidi's school year, so it all works out.
Everything else is coming together: dining table, chandelier (don't ask), new desk, lots of bookshelves, and a new sofa. The washing machine and dryer arrived today and I had to bribe the delivery guys to carry them up five flights of stairs (they normally do only three), but that's all settled - another thing that could go wrong, didn't. The old apartment is increasingly turning into a warehouse of boxes, so that part is covered as well.
I'll be glad when the whole thing is over, though. I'm looking forward to actually living in the new apartment and be done with the packing, the paperwork and the stress.
