Fun TV show - Dexter
Dec. 21st, 2006 01:12 pmMy latest TV addiction is 'Dexter'. Heidi and I just saw the first season's last episode and it was fun. The season is a little short (12 episodes) so we saw it all in about five weeks. The network signed up for another season and I'll be sure to watch in 40-odd weeks.
We both liked the Dexter ads in the subway (a killer holding body parts) and liked the premise (a serial killer who only kills other killers). The acting is good, the writing is decent (not too many holes in the plot), the office politics are believable, so pretty good overall. I was happily surprised to see Julie Benz in a pretty big role - she's one of my favorite actresses from Buffy and Angel.
By now, Heidi knows a lot about body parts, blood testing and DNA. While there were a fair number of technical mistakes in the naming of body parts and the speed of DNA testing, she felt it didn't detract from the show. That's better than your average CSI show and the equivalent of high praise ;-)
Since Veronica Mars isn't showing new episodes until January or two, and Dexter is done, we'll have to find something else to watch in our 3 to 4 hours of TV per week - any suggestions?
