Question on yesterday's Apple announcements

So Apple announced they've licensed ActiveSync and will support Exchange on the iPhone. Question, though, is: did they license ActiveSync for the iPhone or ActiveSync, period? In other words, will we see Exchange support in Apple Mail on the desktop?
