Party time
Dec. 8th, 2006 10:21 pmTomorrow Heidi and I will be hosting our third annual Christmas party - actually, our 3rd Champagne Extravaganza. We seem to be adding 10 guests per year, as 31(!) people have confirmed they'll attend. Note this is in a 850 sqft Manhattan apartment, so it's good our friends get along with each other - it'll be insanely crowded but great fun. We went all out this year and have 24 bottles of champagne, ranging from basic French bubbly to vintage pink L-P, so this is going to be good. I'll try and be sober enough to still taste the good stuff when we open it late in the evening.
In preparation for the party, I took the day off and helped lug a tree back home, plus cleaned half the house, and tagged along for the shopping. A lot of brownies, cookies and snacks were bought and I was the one to carry them home (next, I'll taste them to see if they're all right - good times). We tend to overdo the cleaning for this kind of thing, especially given we'll have to do it all over again in two days; so the bathroom is all bleachy, I dusted all the bookshelves, vacuumed behind the dressers, and ended up doing all the ironing. I need a day off to recover from my day off...
